Sustainable Shopping—Which Bag Is Best? |
Geschrieben von: bop07mo - 12.04.2022, 01:27 - Forum: Uservorstellung

Americans go through hundreds of billions of plastic bags each year. In an effort to curb the number of Soft Bags being used once and then thrown away, cities around the world have instituted bans or taxes on plastic bags. But are paper or reusable bags much better for the environment? Science shows that there is not a clear answer.
Plastic Bags
A major advantage of plastic bags is that, when compared to other types of shopping bags, producing them carries the lowest environmental toll. The thin, plastic grocery store bags are most commonly made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Although production of these bags does use resources like petroleum, it results in less carbon emissions, waste, and harmful byproducts than cotton or paper bag production. Plastic bags are also relatively sturdy and reusable. Many of the studies about different bagging options that show plastic bags production demands less resources assume plastic bags are used at least twice—once coming home and once as a trash bag—and factor this into the calculations about which bags are more sustainable.
Plastic Duffle Bags are recyclable, though few people recycle them. Recycling plastic bags is a difficult task; they fly away in the recycling plant and get stuck in machinery. Because of this, many cities do not offer curbside recycling for plastic bags. Instead, large-scale retailers offer bag recycling services. However, these services are dependent on the consumer bringing the plastic bags back to the store.
Bags that are not recycled end up becoming litter, because they do not biodegrade. In addition to filling up landfills and becoming eyesores, plastic bags that become litter endanger many facets of the environment, including marine life and the food chain. This is because plastic bags, like all plastic materials, eventually break up into microscopic pieces, which scientists refer to as microplastics. Microplastics have been found nearly everywhere: in marine animals, farmland soil, and urban air.
Though scientists have only just begun studying the consequences of microplastic proliferation, and we do not yet know their effect on animals, humans, and the environment, scientists are concerned about how this level of plastic pollution could change our planet. The studies that found plastic bags to be less harmful to the environment than paper and reusable bags did not take effects of litter into account and instead assumed that the plastic bags would be recycled or used as trash bags.
Paper Bags
Paper bags have some advantages over plastic bags when it comes to sustainability. They are easier to recycle, and, because they are biodegradable, they can be used for purposes like composting. However, paper is very resource-heavy to produce: Manufacturing a paper bag takes about four times as much energy as it takes to produce a plastic bag, plus the chemicals and fertilizers used in producing paper bags create additional harm to the environment.
Studies have shown that, for a paper Flight Bag to neutralize its environmental impact compared to plastic, it would have to be used anywhere from three to 43 times. Since paper bags are the least durable of all the bagging options, it is unlikely that a person would get enough use out of any one bag to even out the environmental impact.
Still, the fact that paper is recyclable helps lessen its impact. In 2018, 68.1 percent of paper consumed in the United States was recovered for recycling, a percentage that has been rising in the last decade. However, because paper fibers become shorter and weaker each time the recycling process takes place, there is a limit to how many times paper can be recycled.
Reusable Bags
Reusable bags are made from many different materials, and the environmental impact of producing those materials varies widely. One study from the United Kingdom (UK) found that, regarding bag production, cotton Cooler Bags have to be reused 131 times before they reduce their impact on climate change to the same extent as plastic bags. To have a comparable environmental footprint (which encompasses climate change as well as other environmental effects) to plastic bags, a cotton bag potentially has to be used thousands of times. Materials other than cotton, however, perform much better in sustainability metrics. Nonwoven polypropylene (PP) is another popular option. Made from a more durable kind of plastic, these bags need to be reused around eleven times to break even with the impact of conventional plastic.
In addition to varying widely in their eco-friendliness, there is the chance that reusable bags go unused, because consumers have to remember to bring the bags with them to the store. The biggest positive of reusable Waist Bags is that their use cuts down on the amount of litter on land and in the ocean. Studies have found that bans on plastic bags in cities in the United States and Europe have decreased the amount of plastic litter in nearby waters.
If you are going on a trip soon, it’s important to bring with you the right luggage. If you have never bought luggage before, make sure to check the list below for the things you should look for when buying new Hard Luggage Sets.
Not a lot of people think that customer service is important when you are looking for a luggage set, but it can play an important part on whether you will actually recommend the product. You want to be able to talk to someone when you have questions about the product that you bought after all. Especially if you bought from a more expensive brand. Ask for their phone line or even an email. Most businesses that have been around for a while will have these. Aside from their customer service, make sure that your luggage comes with a guarantee. This will ensure that in case the bag gets damaged, you can get it repaired.
With any investment you want to make, you want to make sure that it will be around for a long time. You might not expect ABS Luggage Sets from chain stores to last you long, but if you are planning to invest in more expensive brands, it’s important that they will be durable. You can read through some online reviews to see what customers have to say about the bags they bought. Every aspect of the luggage should be durable. Do your research on what the most durable materials are. If you are a frequent traveler and you know that there will be wear and tear, make sure to choose a material that will be able to withstand all that travel. Even the small parts should be durable, most especially the zippers and the wheels. Can you imagine how inconvenient it would be to luggage around a suitcase that has a broken wheel?
No two trips are the same. An overnight trip to a hotel will not require the same luggage as a three day trip out of town. So it is inevitable that you will need several types of luggage for whatever trip you will be making. It is a good thing that you can invest in Soft Luggage Sets instead of just buying one piece of luggage at a time. When canvassing which ones you should buy, make sure that you will get different varieties of luggage so that you won’t need to make another trip to the store. You should have luggage that you can bring for an overtrip and big, sturdy luggage with wheels that you can bring for your trip abroad. You might also need other types like a laptop bag or even a toiletry kit.

3D Printing Materials |

The Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) printing process is incredibly adaptable—however, 3D Printer Filament doesn’t work for every plastic. As a result of the tight constraints required to precisely extrude plastic out of a tiny nozzle, traditional plastics originally optimized for injection molding do not print. The plastics that are printable, however, cover a massive range of compositions, print constraints, and material properties. To find the right material, you need to match the requirements of your applications to the properties of the materials you can print with. In this article, we discuss the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of thermoplastics.
In addition to printing thermoplastics, Markforged also adapts the FFF process to print non-plastic materials. In Continuous Filament Fabrication (CFF), an FFF 3D Printer with a specialized second nozzle lays down continuous carbon fiber, fiberglass, or Kevlar® into a part. Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing (ADAM) builds on the existing metal fabrication technology of Metal Injection Molding (MIM), by using an FFF based process to print metal powder encased in a plastic binder. These printed parts are placed in a solvent bath to remove binding material and sintered into fully metallic parts.
Standard thermoplastics
As 3D printing has expanded rapidly, so has the variety of PETG 3D Printer Filaments. Despite this boom, most FFF 3D-printable thermoplastics fit into three categories: basic thermoplastics, niche thermoplastics, and superplastics.
Basic thermoplastics: These plastics don’t have any excellent qualities, but are the most popular printing thermoplastics available. PLA, the most common printing plastic, prints well and possesses decent mechanical properties—however, its complete lack of heat resistance and its low durability makes it impossible to use in industrial environments. ABS has superior heat resistance, but isn’t particularly strong and reacts poorly with most manufacturing chemicals. PETG, a printing subset of polyethylene, is a cross between the two: a bit stronger than ABS and a bit more heat resistant than PLA, but still not robust enough for most manufacturing environments.
Superplastics: These materials possess all the aspects necessary to thrive in manufacturing environments. PEEK and Ultem are both strong, stiff plastics that have extremely high heat resistance and chemical resistance. Engineers used them heavily in manufacturing before they were 3D printable, and now use Multifunctional 3D Printers to create custom, robust fixtures out of these materials.
Continuous fibers (CFF)
While chopped carbon fibers are remarkable in their ability to augment thermoplastics, continuous fibers can add far more strength to parts. Markforged uses a combination of FFF printing and Continuous Fiber Fabrication (CFF) to lay down long strand fibers in conventionally printed thermoplastic parts. This technology is also extrusion based and prints via a secondary nozzle, but instead of melting the whole PCL 3D Printer Filament, it uses the heat of its nozzle to “iron” down fibers into a thermoplastic layer. Fibers do not melt—instead, they’re captured by the thermoplastic matrix in a similar way that thermoset adhesives like epoxy capture fibers in traditional fiber fabrication methods.
3D printing pen seems to be the buzzword around 3D printing enthusiasts and hobbyists. Be it a child or a professional artist, everyone is eager to have a 3D printing pen. The fact that it brings fun at the workplace, inspires creativity and helps in learning, is making 3D Pens a craze all over the world.
3D printing pens are just similar to ordinary glue guns, but these pens extrude 3D printing filaments. This extruded/melted material is used to draw figures and artwork. It is similar to a regular writing pen but in these pens the figure can stand on its own in the third dimension (Z-axis). The subsequent result is a three dimensional figure which is draw by hand and looks like a 3D printed part.
Since the drawings are made with hand they are not as finished as produced by a machine but they are a great tool to inspire creativity.
Grown out of a necessity to democratise the 3D printing technology and make it accessible to even the average person, three enthusiastic people worked on creating a device which is not as bulky, costly and techno-centric as a 3D printer. The three inventors built, Peter Dilworth, Maxwell Bogue, and Daniel Cowen of WobbleWorks, Inc their first prototype in 2012 in a makerspace. They invented the first Cordless 3d Printing Pen which they called a 3Doodler. It is said that they had a bad experience with 3D printers and wanted to create a product that was simple & affordable to every hobbyists and artist.
The working principle of 3D printing pens is straightforward. Since the pens use polymer filament as the material the working is as simple as melting the material in a heat chamber and extruding it through the tip (read nozzle) of the pen and deposit the material on any platform. The user can then move the pen around to draw different figures and shapes. The melted material oozing out of the nozzle quickly cools and this makes the deposited material to stand on its own accord. Once cooled the plastic shape holds its shape and remains permanent.
The heating temperature is adjusted as per the material used in the pen. Only a limited number of materials can be used in a 3D Children Smart Pen. The requirement for a material to be used in a 3D printing pen is that it should melt quickly when heated and solidify quickly once it is extruded out of the pen. The user should also note that he should not draw with the 3D pen like a regular pen. The 3D pen should be moved slowly so the figures can be drawn and it holds its shape.

The search for a new Carton Folder Gluer Machine can be very daunting. There are many folder-gluer OEMs out there and each has different models, features and sizes designed for a variety of applications. When a finisher or folding carton manufacturer is in the market for an upgraded or new folder-gluer, there are several questions to ask in order to find the best fit for the market they are involved in or attempting to enter.
Do you run paperboard or corrugated?
The paperboard market includes folding paper cartons – sometimes referred to as just folding cartons. The corrugated market produces folding boxes that often are referred to as cardboard boxes. The folding/gluing machines for these two distinctive markets may look similar, but the design and structure of the machines are quite different. There are folder-gluers that will produce products using both of these substrates, but on a limited basis. In other words, if you wish to produce corrugated C flute boxes, don’t expect the same folder-gluer machine to produce 12-point folding paper cartons – at least not efficiently.
The Box Stitching Machihne is one of the post processing equipment of the carton. The principle of the machine is the same as the principle of the common stapler, but the nail box machine is used as a pad for the carton. This series of products have the advantages of lightness, easy operation, good wear resistance, smooth sealing, safety and firm, and can reduce the strength of labor and improve work efficiency. It is widely used in the sealing of various cartons and calcium plastic boxes which need heavy articles or not easy to use sticky tape.
What Is Rotary Die Cutting?
The first question you're likely asking when deciding whether or not Rotary Die Cutting Machine is right for your project is what exactly it is. Many people haven't heard about the benefits that die cutting services provide, and that's okay! In this section, we're going to inform you about what exactly rotary die cutting is and how it can apply to your individual work.
THE BASICS ON DIE CUTTING
A die, generally speaking, is a tool used to cut material into a given shape. It usually is made of metal and can cut through surfaces like paper, fabric, adhesive, and leather to give it the desired shape. This creates many cuts of cloth or plastic that are identical in size and shape to one another.
For example, if a shoemaker were trying to create a set of leather shoes that matched with one another exactly, he or she would use a die cut to cut the shape of the shoe out of a larger leather sheet. In fact, this is the way that die cutting started up as a common process back in the 1800s!
This process takes place when using a die cutting machine. These machines can be operated by hand, meaning that the operator pushes a lever and the machine cuts through the material. In the present day, though, it's more common that the machine will be automatic.
Single-facer
The section of a corrugator which forms the corrugated shape in the medium, applies adhesive to it and then bonds it to the flat linerboard. The output from a single-facer is referred to as Single Facer board. Most corrugators have more than one single-facer to enable different flute sizes to be used.

What is a pH Meter and how does it Work? |
Geschrieben von: bop06mo - 11.04.2022, 02:36 - Forum: Allgemein

pH is a measurable parameter between the values of 0 and 14, provided the concentration of the solution does not exceed 1M. Solutions with a pH<7 are acidic, whereas those with a pH>7 are alkaline. A PH METER is a device that measures the changes in the activity of hydrogen ions in a solution.
pH meters
pH meters are electronic devices comprised of a special measuring probe (a glass electrode or, an ion-selective field-effect transistor (ISFET), in specialized cases), attached to an electronic meter that displays the decimal pH reading. The Automatic Calibration PH Meter must be calibrated prior to use against buffer solutions of known hydrogen ion activity.
The standard methodology for measuring pH
Combined PH meters consist of a glass electrode made of a specialty glass membrane that is sealed at the end forming a bulb. Inside the glass is an internal standard acidity solution, usually 0.1 M HCl, along with an internal reference electrode, REin (typically an Ag/AgCl wire electrode). This solution is called the reference solution of known pH, 7.
A second electrode REext is placed in an external tube immersed in KCl. This external tube forms a concentric enclosure around the first enclosed glass tube containing the 0.1 M HCl (the internal tube).
The external tube is made of pH-sensitive glass and is in contact with the test solution through an opening called a porous diaphragm. The inclusion of a reference electrode encased by the internal tube is necessary as its pH is known and can be compared to a test solution so that its pH value can be determined. This set-up is called a combination pH electrode.
Operation of pH meter
The 3 in 1 PH Meter operates like a voltmeter. The pair of electrodes in the combinatorial set-up can measure small changes in voltage (also called potential difference) in the order of millivolts. Changes in potentials are caused by the loss of electrons that correspond with the loss of H+.
Calibration
The pH meter should be calibrated before each measurement using at least two standard buffer solutions of known pH values (typically around 4 and 7).
What is a TDS meter?
A TDS Meter is a small hand-held device used to indicate the Total Dissolved Solids in a solution, usually water. Since dissolved ionized solids, such as salts and minerals, increase the conductivity of a solution, a TDS meter measures the conductivity of the solution and estimates the TDS from that reading.
TDS meters may be referred to as TDS testers or PPM (parts per million) testers, but all of these are different names for the same thing. TDS meters can be purchased for as low as $10, but more advanced models can cost $1,000+ based on the level of accuracy and additional features offered.
For example, a basic TDS meter may only measure the amount of total dissolved solids in a solution while an advanced model may be able to check salinity, temperature, and more.
DO Meters use an electrochemical, polarographic, amperometric, galvanic, or optical sensor to measure the amount of gaseous oxygen dissolved in a water sample. DO is an important water quality parameter that effects marine life, the taste of drinking water, and the corrosiveness of a water sample. Common applications include groundwater remediation, wastewater, aquariums, and fish hatcheries.
Salt Meters are an easy-to-use water quality indicating tool and are a great way to obtain a quick estimate of the dissolved salt present in a wide range of water samples.
They are useful in a wide range of applications from testing salinity levels in water used for agriculture, drinking water, wastewater, and for testing the water in home pools and spas.
If you have an interest in knowing how a salinity meter works, this article is for you.
About Salinity Meters
Salinity Meters are devices that are used to measure the amount of salt present in a substance.
You can purchase salinity meters either on their own or as a sensor in multiparameter meters, which can measure other water quality parameters such as pH, conductivity, TDS and more.
Conclusion
The inner workings of salinity meters may seem complex, but they produce accurate salinity measurements in a matter of seconds. When looking for a salinity meter, it is important to check whether the units of measurements are suitable for your requirements and choose a device with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) to make measuring faster and easier.

Kicking off a kitchen remodel? You have a lot of work—and decisions—ahead of you. You’ll need to pick out new cabinets, floors, appliances, and more. Yet, the most impactful decision, by far, will be your choice of new countertops. There are so many options, styles, and colors to choose from. For many homeowners, finding the right countertops for their kitchen remodel is one of the most challenging parts of the project.
In this article, we’ll guide you through your many Countertop & Vanity options and help you decide which material—granite, quartz, marble, stainless steel, or butcher block—is right for your kitchen. We’ll weigh the pros and cons of each, and make the case for how each might figure into your kitchen remodel.
Granite Countertops
When most people hear “stone countertops,” they instinctively think of granite. It’s the definitive material for most kitchen remodels (although, as we’ll discuss, quartz is a close second and preferred by many people!). Cut from natural stone and then sealed, Granite countertops are incredibly durable and beautiful. They’re difficult to damage and, unsurprisingly, retain their value for many years because of this quality.
Granite countertops come in two types: slab and prefabricated. Both are natural stone. “Prefabricated” just means the stone has already been cut to a default size prior to arriving at the distributor. Because of this one-size-fits-all approach, it’s generally cheaper than granite slab, which has not yet been cut or fabricated to size. If you’re working on a highly custom kitchen remodel, you may need to buy granite slab so that your contractor can customize not only the size, but also the edging and other details.
If you love the look of natural stone, it’s hard to go wrong with Chinese Granite. For the reasons we’ll discuss below, it’s a better natural stone alternative to marble for kitchen remodeling projects.
Advantages
- Durable: Granite is a tough material that can stand up to accidental slashes, cuts, and impact.
- Heat-Resistant: Granite is highly heat-resistant, which means you can put hot pans or trays on its surface without causing permanent damage.
- Unique: No two pieces of granite are exactly the same, which means your kitchen’s granite slab will truly be one-of-a-kind.
Quartz Countertops
When stone countertops first came into vogue, granite was the obvious choice for many homeowners. However, in recent years, an alternative—Quartz Countertops—have really taken off. Unlike granite, which is cut from natural stone and then sealed, quartz is real stone that has been processed and sealed into a protective resin. As a result, quartz countertops can look like just about anything: they can take on patterns, colors, and looks just not found in natural stone.
Generally speaking, Quartz and granite countertops are about even in terms of cost. If you’re comparing the cost of quartz and granite countertops, you’ll really need to look at the specific countertops in question: both occupy the same average price range.
Another place the two materials are just about even is their overall durability. Quartz trades the heat-resistance of granite for better moisture and leak resistance. They’re both very solid and stand up well to everyday use.
The final verdict? The choice between quartz and granite is less about specifics and more about your personal taste and what your kitchen remodel needs. If you’re looking for the strength and beauty of natural stone, granite is probably right for your kitchen. If you want a more modern design, quartz probably has something you’re looking for.
Advantages
- Variety: Quartz countertops are available in far more colors and design variations than granite or marble, which means they work with more kitchen styles.
- Maintenance-Free: Unlike granite, quartz countertops come sealed in a permanent resin and do not need to be regularly resealed.
- Durable: While not invulnerable, quartz stands up to everyday wear-and-tear and is stain-resistant.
Marble Countertops
If you want to add class, elegance, and luxury to your home, Marble countertops are the right material. After all, there’s a reason marble was the medium of choice for Renaissance sculptors. It has a timeless beauty and radiance to it. By adding marble to your kitchen, you’re not just choosing a countertop. You’re making a statement.
However, there are some drawbacks that should make you reconsider your decision to put the marble in your kitchen. Besides its high cost (discussed below), marble is also the least durable of the three stone countertop options discussed in this article. It just doesn’t stand up to everyday cooking and cleaning in a kitchen. For homeowners with their hearts set on adding marble to their home, we recommend using it for bathroom vanities and remodels, where there’s not as much pressure on homeowners to protect the stone.
If you’re comparing the cost of marble versus granite or the cost of marble versus quartz, you’ll find that, generally speaking, lower-end marble costs more per square foot than high-end granite or quartz. According to data from HGTV, the average cost of granite, per square foot, is $75. Meanwhile, the average cost of marble countertops starts at $100 / square foot and can actually be as much as $200 / square foot! In general, it’s more expensive to install and—the larger your kitchen—the more your costs will ballon if you opt for marble.
Advantages
Luxury: Marble Slabs are considered the material of choice for luxury condos and home builds. It’s beautiful, and the right marble countertop is a true showstopper in any kitchen.

A Monitor Stand is a work from home essential that serves two important purposes: Giving you extra space for your accessories, cleaning off your desk, and making your workspace more ergonomic. By elevating your monitor closer to eye-level you won’t have to crane your neck for hours at a time, which can strain it over time.
We’ve had hands-on testing time with a number of monitor stands, and collected the ones that are worth your time in this guide. All of these stands will work with any monitor, regardless of its size or who makes it. You can also use these stands to elevate a laptop — PC or Mac — or a monitor and computer if the stand is large enough.
If your neck is sore at the end of each work day, or you want a little extra storage space on your desk, these are the monitor stands we recommend.
There are many factors to consider when choosing the best Monitor Stands for you; below are the most important ones, which we considered while we were researching this list.
Size: The monitor stands we’re recommending are between 10 and 46 inches wide; larger ones are better if you want to fit two monitors, while smaller ones are better for compact desks.
Elevation: The monitor stands in our guide are between 2.19 and 8.5 inches tall — think about this when deciding how high your monitor needs to be for optimal comfort. If you use an Adjustable Stand, you’ll have more flexibility.
Materials: All of the monitor stands we’re recommencing are made out of wood or metal, so they’ll add a nice aesthetic quality to your home office.
Additional Space: One of the biggest advantages of using a monitor stand is the ability to use space below the stand for storage. Every monitor below offers some level of storage for accessories, so you can clean up your desk.
If we can’t adjust our monitors, we adjust ourselves and our posture to the position of our screen. We hunch. We crane our necks. And in computer intensive roles, we do this for long periods of time. This leads to eye, neck and back strain, which in turn leads to musculoskeletal disorders, time off work, and ultimately a loss in productivity.
This is where an adjustable Pos Stand is key. If a person can adjust the height, distance and angle of their monitor it means they can adjust their technology to their own unique requirements. Reducing the occurrence of eye, neck and back strain.
At home, or in the office, using a Tablet Stand is a practical solution to free your hands and comfortably read multimedia content. But still, most people are not aware of their alluring benefits. Also, this accessory is available in such a wide variety, that it can be tricky to find the one that suits your needs.
Viewing a tablet screen on a flat surface or haphazardly propped up on something is both uncomfortable and annoying, while having to hold it up at a certain height gives you dead arms. A tablet desk stand offers you comfort and even saves you from neck, arm, and back pain.
If you’re using both hands to type on your Macbook but still want to use your iPad to view something, then a tablet stand could prove helpful.
A desktop stand can improve productivity once the tablet is at the same level as your computer, as you can easily switch between tasks.
How to Choose the Right Tablet Desk Stand?
While you might have an idea about what kind of tablet stand to get, you can still be overwhelmed by the options out there.
So what factors do you need to consider when selecting a suitable stand?
Here’re a few tips to help you make up your mind.
1. Size
It’s not just about how big the TV Stand is but more about the size of the tablet it supports.
Tablet stands come in different shapes and sizes. Some are larger with more features and tend to be sturdy static desk stands capable of holding bigger tablets, whereas, portable stands may only hold smaller-sized ones.
If you have multiple tablets, or you’re sharing the stand with your family and colleagues, it’s better to buy one that holds tablets of varying sizes and weights.
2. Flexibility
There may be times when you want to rotate your tablet between portrait and landscape mode or alter the angle of your screen. With a tablet stand that allows you to adjust the device, you can easily switch to Facetime from a movie. If you’re using the tablet to give a presentation, it’s a lot easier to show everyone what’s on the screen.
3. Height
How do you want to access the tablet? There are ARM Stands of different heights for different purposes.
If you want to use your tablet while standing, choose one that allows you to look at the screen at eye level. To use a tablet stand at your work desk, make sure it lets you comfortably use the tablet.
4. Location
Where will you put the tablet desk stand? Is it part of your office setup, or will you use the tablet in the kitchen so you can look at recipes while you cook?
Some tablet holders sit on a flat surface, while some need fixing down using stickers or screws.
5. Durability
You don’t want to see your tablet falling off when you rotate the screen, so make sure the stand is sturdy enough not to tip over easily. Many stands have clips or stickers holding the tablet in place on the mount.

What are the advantages of AAC blocks?
In today’s times when the world is realising the importance of environmental conservation, the construction sector has also witnessed technological advancements, including the use of innovative and sustainable construction materials. Here are some of the advantages of AAC bricks:
- Better workability and faster construction
AAC blocks are about 50% lighter and 10 times larger than traditional bricks. This unique property facilitates easy installation and gives the desired flexibility that makes adjustments, cutting, shaping, etc., quite easy. AAC Block Production Line has fewer joints and consistent dimensions, thereby, ensuring ease of laying and making the construction process faster. Lastly, the lightweight blocks are easy to transport, which helps to save on the overall logistics and shipping costs, as compared to the costs involved in the transportation of traditional bricks.
Generally, buildings are designed to handle vertical forces, such as self-weight and gravity. However, there are also horizontal forces, such as those caused by earthquakes. The AAC blocks gain a high level of strength during the manufacturing process, giving durability to the finished structure. Thus, structures made with AAC bricks are capable of handling higher seismic loads, compared to structures with conventional bricks.
- Thermal insulation and energy-efficiency
The material contains small air pockets and hydrogen is used to foam the concrete, thus, giving it an excellent heat insulation property that allows temperatures to be warm in winters and cool in summers. Therefore, it can significantly lower your air-conditioning costs by about 25%. AAC blocks are energy-efficient across their lifecycle, as their production involves less energy consumption.
The AAC Production Plant is non-combustible and provides fire resistance of up to six hours, depending on the block thickness and up to 1,200 degrees Celsius, compared to other building materials. Thus, it also has importance from a fire safety point of view.
- Sustainable and affordable
AAC blocks are made from natural and non-toxic raw materials and their manufacturing process generates minimum waste. Some of the waste or offcuts generated can be recycled or used in aggregates. As it is made from non-biodegradable materials, it makes the building durable and stable, preventing rot or mold. Furthermore, being lightweight, energy-efficient and easy to install, AAC blocks also minimise labour costs.

Over the past few years, technology and skin care have collided more than ever before, causing us to wonder: Could there soon be a day when all our precious serums and creams will be rendered obsolete, replaced by a bevy of high-tech tools and devices? The short answer is probably not. No product-obsessed person would ever dare say "see ya later" to their beloved top shelf, but that's not to say the aforementioned gadgets won't seriously upgrade the skin-care game — and potentially shake up the industry as we know it.
Need proof? We have a Food and Drug Administration-cleared LED mask that'll help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fight acne and a vibrating facial massage tool that mimics your body's natural lymphatic system. Oh, and there's an epidermal growth factor (EGF) Micro-Needling + Ion Infusion Kit from Georgia Louise to consider as well — which creates tons of tiny channels on your skin's surface.
The tech-based options we're exposed to seem to be increasing by the month, let alone year, so we've rounded up 17 dermatologist- and editor-approved skin-care Facial Device worth trying out this year, including a handheld LED light that literally zaps away the appearance of fine lines over time.
Massage guns, also known as percussion Massagers, percussive therapy and vibration therapy, offer many of the benefits of massage without the expense or the hassle of a visit to the massage therapist — something currently forbidden, with physical distancing. These electric tools, which start at about $100 and resemble power drills, deliver a vigorous massage and typically come with a selection of attachments, such as balls of varying firmness and finger-like tips, and have different settings. While they’re designed to be used by anyone, they’re most popular among endurance athletes such as triathletes and ultramarathoners, says Hugh Williams, the marketing director of Addaday, a massage gun manufacturer. But with the benefits come a few risks as well. Here’s what you should know before using one.
Like a traditional massage, the Body Hair Device aims to reduce inflammation by flushing extracellular fluids such as lymph fluid and venous blood out of the muscle tissue and into the circulatory system. It can help relax tight muscles, break up scar tissue and adhesions, and minimize muscle soreness and tension. A small study published in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research found percussive therapy to be as effective as massage in preventing DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Unlike with many other forms of bodywork, it’s not only possible to perform percussive massage on yourself but it’s recommended. According to Alan Novick, physician and chief of the Memorial Rehabilitation Institute in Hollywood, Fla., if someone else is using the gun on you, regardless of their credentials, skill and experience, they can’t tell how much pressure they’re exerting on your body or how much pain you might be experiencing as a result. “You could actually hurt somebody,” he says.
On the other hand, if you’re using it on yourself, “you have that direct feedback loop and you’re not going to apply as much pressure,” Novick says.
During the 1940s, many hospitals began utilizing UV-C energy for the control of airborne infectious diseases. With the arrival and proliferation of antibiotics, use of germicidal UV began to wane. During the 1990s, drug-resistant “superbugs” and hospital-acquired infections renewed interest in UV-C, which can kill virtually any microorganism, including antibiotic-resistant germs.
ASHRAE has recognized that the UV-C wavelength inactivates virtually all microorganisms living on HVACR surfaces, with kill ratios of up to 99 percent, depending on the intensity of the UV-C and the length of exposure.6
UV-C dose is determined by the amount of germicidal energy a pathogen absorbs over a specific period of time. In other words, UV-C dose is a function of time multiplied by intensity. Consider, for example, a surface-disinfection application involving cooling coils. The Disinfection Device target (the coil surface) is stationary, so exposure, or “residence,” time is continuous. As a result, the intensity of the UV-C energy striking the surface can be relatively low. In the case of a moving air stream, however, exposure time is limited—a mere fraction of a second, in some cases—so UV-C intensity must be much greater.
It is important to note that microbe inactivation is a nonlinear function of UV-C exposure. In other words, “If a certain UV exposure kills 90 percent of a bacterial population (frequently referred to as ‘one-log kill’), doubling the exposure time or intensity can kill only 90 percent of the residual 10 percent, for an overall germicidal efficacy of 99 percent (‘two-log kill’).”7

An overview of ‘steel’
Steel is among the most popular materials used in the construction industry. According to the World Steel Association, in 2018 around 1,808 million tons of crude steel was produced worldwide and about 50% of this production was utilized by the construction industry. Further, they also state that there are as many as 3,500 different grades of steel and each grade offers environmental, chemical and physical properties unique to that grade of steel. Steel has undergone significant evolution through time and around 75% of all the types of modern-day steel were developed in the past 20 years. It is interesting to note that had the Eiffel Tower (constructed in 1887) been constructed in today’s times, it would require only one-third of the steel used back then.
Types of alloy steel
There are two kinds of alloy steel – low-alloy steel and high-alloy steel. As mentioned earlier, the composition and proportion of alloying elements determine the various properties of alloy steel. Low-alloy steels are the ones that have up to 8% alloying elements whereas high-alloy steels have more than 8% alloying elements.
Alloy steel products and their applications
There are hundreds of products that can be manufactured with alloy steels of varying compositions. These include Stainless Steel Pipe/tubes, alloy steel plates, sheets and coils, alloy steel bars, rods and wires, alloy steel forged fittings, alloy steel buttweld fittings, alloy steel flanges, fasteners and more. Alloy steels have many uses in various industries such as automobiles, mining, machinery and equipment, railways, road construction, buildings, appliances and off-shore applications.
Alloy steel flat products
Alloy steels are used to make flat products – plates and strips. Plates are available in a wide range of grades and sizes. These are used in building construction by welding plates into fabricated sections.
Alloy steel strip and coil products
Strips are available as hot and cold rolled strips and hot-dipped galvanized Stainless Steel Coils. Hot-dipped galvanized coils are used to make construction products that include wall and roof claddings, side rails, roof purlins, light steel frames and lintels.
Alloy steel long products
Alloy steels are employed in producing long products used in the construction industry such as girders, structural sections, Stainless Steel Bars, rails, rods and wires.
Alloy steel pipe products
Alloy steel pipes are important materials in the building and construction industry because of their performance characteristics such as ductility, ease of fixing without heat treatment and high durability. They are an Inconel Alloy of stainless steel, chromium and nickel. Some special types of alloy steel pipes include large diameter welded pipes, electric fusion welded pipes, welded pipes and seamless pipes. They are extremely useful for high-temperature or corrosive applications besides high-pressure environments.
Applications in building bridges
Bridges use special Nickel Based Alloy steels known as weathering steels. These provide enhanced protection from corrosion because of the presence of nickel, copper and chromium as alloying elements. Weathering steels also find uses in buildings as facing material to improve aesthetics. Weathering steel offers several benefits which include high safety, ease and quickness of construction, aesthetic looks, shallow depth of construction, low maintenance and amenable to alterations in the future. Because of its natural weathered finish, no painting is required thus avoiding environmental issues caused by paints. Weathering steels are extremely cost-effective in the long run.
When we talk about materials with wide applications in the construction business, home, power, and architecture, one material that comes to mind is stainless steel. No doubt, stainless steel has many applications in the modern world. However, there are many things people don’t know about it. We all can say that there are many cutleries made of stainless steel. However, not many people know about the different stainless steel types used in making many products used by people.
What is Stainless Steel?
One of the common metals with different applications in many sectors is stainless steel. Stainless Steel Sheet has many properties that make it ideal for such a purpose. For example, it is anti-rust and anti-stain. Stainless steel was accidentally obtained due to the addition of Chromium to Iron. When compared to other metals and alloys such as Iron and Steel, it has other advantages. Here, you will know about the properties of the three, their relationship, and their differences.
Unlike what most people know, stainless steel is not a single entity. Instead, it is a single broad entity that encompasses many things. Stainless steel is an alloy that contains at least 11% chromium. Due to this composition, stainless steel does not rust, and it is heat resistant. Depending on the stainless steel types, you can have other elements such as carbon (0.03-1.00%), nitrogen, silicon, sulfur, niobium, and molybdenum.

Who doesn’t need a good reason to improve productivity and comfort? But are we looking for those ergonomic solutions in all the wrong places. Especially as our work environment is changing, whether working from home and adapting to a new work desk or returning to the office only to have to reconfigure your space to new safety guidelines. Perhaps it’s time to start from the bottom and work our way up – let’s take a look under the desk and see how Adjustable Legs can turn your work desk into a more profitable work space.
Optimize Efficiency
Let’s start with the number one reason: productivity. Stainless Steel Adjustable Legs give your mood a little boost by mixing things up and transitioning from sitting to standing. This simple step creates a sense of awareness about your body that activates important brain functions. You are suddenly more alert, which in turn, helps with focus and efficiency. Your time is valuable. Rather than spending hours sitting at your desk in and out of focus and ultimately feeling unaccomplished at the end of it, give your mind short bursts of concentration by forcing your body into different positions and get more out of less time spent in front of the computer.
Improve Health
Standing height desks can actually improve your health. Back pain? Try standing to relieve your lower back from hours of sitting and slouching. Make a conscious effort to improve your posture while standing, then give yourself a break and return to a seated position and vice versa. Adjustable Feet give you the freedom to move up and down, which helps with blood flow and increases circulation. The long-term effects include an overall decrease in the risk of cardiovascular disease as a result. You can even burn calories! I mean, we’re only talking about an extra 10 calories per hour or so, so it’s not exactly going to replace your regular gym workout regimen. It’s not exactly going to be the cover story in the next health magazine center spread as the secret to weight loss, but hey, every little bit helps! And it promotes healthy habits that could lead to more energy and more motivation to move from the work desk to the weight room.
Baffle Grease Filters are the initial step to managing commercial kitchen grease and regulate exhaust ventilation. When installed properly, they safely guard the exhaust vents to keep flames or flammable debris from entering the ducts, and they capture grease vapors and particles to prevent them from building up in the ventilation system.
These filters come in a wide variety of sizes and dimensions, and can be made from high quality stainless steel, galvanized steel, or aluminum. These standard filters can be welded or riveted, while some speciality filters may be constructed differently to serve their specific purpose safely and efficiently.
When you cook on a stove or using other methods, smoke, steam, and grease are released into the air. The interlocking baffles of the filter channel this air by simultaneously forcing it in two different directions, passing it through the strategically placed vertical blades and causing the grease to naturally run downward and into the designated collection trays within the casing, sanitizing the air.
This prevents major fire hazards and is required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Fire Code (IFC), and insurance providers, and is heavily enforced by health inspectors and fire marshals. Mesh hood filters are no longer accepted or allowed under the newest fire codes, so be sure to find the right size and material Range Hood Filter for your kitchen to comply with the current standards.
Stainless steel filters are often the best choice for their aesthetic appearance if your kitchen is visible to customers because of their shine and reflective finish. They also offer the maximum protection against corrosion and rust. Galvanized options are also available, and depending on the volume and use of your kitchen, the lighter weight and less expensive aluminum filters may be considered as well. Of these three options, stainless steel will be more expensive, but their durability and their lasting capability can help save you in replacement costs in the future.
Baffle Grease Filters should fit the exhaust with no gaps or spaces between them to prevent grease and debris from passing through. It may be helpful to have a local professional test your system and adjust the settings correctly to avoid turning the exhaust fan up too high. This is to prevent your filters from getting sucked up into the hood.
While the most important function of a baffle grease filter is to prevent fire hazards and adhere to fire, health, and safety codes, they are also beneficial to utility costs, kitchen cleanliness, and the exhaust system itself by easing the strain on the motor. It also keeps the air properly filtered and sanitized, which results in a cooler kitchen and healthier breathing environment. In addition, it removes odor build up that could give your kitchen a stale smell.
Traditionally, most homeowners have two choices for the stove: gas and electric. More often than not, the type of stove you prefer boils down to what you learned to cook on. However, conversions occur, and plenty of people find reasons to switch their allegiance. For instance, burgeoning chefs may be swayed by the versatility and accuracy provided by the flame heating of gas stoves. Meanwhile, parents with young children may switch to an Electric Stove, seeing it as the safer of the two. Families also appreciate the easy-clean virtues of electric stoves. Strong as one’s personal preference may be, economics play a role too: Depending on where you live, one or the other stove type might be cheaper to operate.
A dry ESP (Eletrostatic Precipitator) electrically charges the ash particles and imparts a strong electric field in the flue gas to collect and remove them. An ESP is comprised of a series of parallel, vertical metallic plates (collecting electrodes) forming lanes through which the flue gas passes. Centered between the collecting electrodes are discharge electrodes which provide the particle charging and electric field. This figure shows a plan view of a typical ESP section which indicates the process arrangement.
A transformer-rectifier (T-R) set along with an automatic voltage controller (AVC) supply the high-voltage and unidirectional current to the discharge electrodes. Several T-R sets are normally required to power a precipitator.
